Colton turns 3 !!!

Three years ago our little (BIG) boy Colton entered the world in a very dramatic fashion!  Since then he has kept our lives exciting, yet some of our most tender moments have been with him as well.

For his birthday, I was able to take all the kids (because they had no school) to a little farm that was set up temporarily that day.  It was set up behind this gorgeous building.

We met up with our friends the Fletchers and they were all able to pet lots of different animals, from llamas....

to donkeys..

 to goats...

 Here Colton got right up close to see how a goat is milked & how a baby goat nurses from its mama.  He wasn't shy at all.

What's a trip to a "farm" without a ride on a tractor?

I'd never seen anything like this next animal.  It looks like a cross between a rooster & a turkey.

The night before his birthday we had a few friends over to celebrate Colton's & (a late) McKinley's birthdays.

As most of you know. we found out Colton has celiac disease in the last couple months.  He has been a little trooper with this big lifestyle change, but I was still a little concerned about making a gluten-free cake.  Of course I have troubles with any cake, really!  So I tried to keep it simple, telling Colton his cake would be round, so maybe it could be a ball cake.  He chose a soccer ball, so that was my attempt.  I also made regular cupcakes that looked like m&m's in honor of McKinley for those not brave enough to try the gluten-free cake, but actually his cake tasted pretty good :)

  Colton always keeps us laughing with his great sense of humor.  He can be wild and crazy, but he's a smart, caring boy & my biggest cuddle bug!

With her second attempt at eating birthday cake, McKinley wasn't quite as demure :)
